Steps In Making
Sandwich Chutney
- In a mixer grinder add all the ingredients and grind until smooth. Do not add lots of water as we want a thick consistency of the chutney. Once done, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
Besan batter
- To make the batter in a bowl add besan, dahi and water. Mix till it is smooth. While adding water make sure you add a little water at a time, or else it might form lumps.
- Now add all the dried spices; red chilli powder, red chilli flakes, turmeric powder, garam masala, jeera powder, ajwain, sesame seeds, and salt along with all the finely chopped vegetables like green chillies, onions, tomatoes and fresh coriander Now mix until well combined.
- The batter should have a medium consistency. Not very thick nor very thin.
Paneer & Cheese Filling
- In a bowl add grated paneer, cheese, finely chopped onions, capsicum, black pepper powder, chaat masala and salt. Mix well. The filling is ready.
Cooking the Besan Cheese Toast sandwich
- To make the sandwich, heat the tawa and add some oil or butter.
- Now dip a bread slice in the besan batter and place it on the tawa. Similarly, cook one more slice.
- Cook from both the sides for 2-3 minutes.
- Now on one side spread the green chutney and on the other spread the tomato ketchup.
- Now add two tablespoons of the paneer and cheese filling and evenly spread it on the bread.
- Cover it with the other bread slice and cook the sandwich for another minute or till the cheese melts.
- Besan cheese toast sandwich is ready. Serve hot with the green chutney or ketchup
Recipe Notes
- While making the chutney do not add lot of water, else the sandwich will become soggy.
- You can make the besan batter and the paneer cheese filling in advance and while making the sandwich add the salt. Do not add the salt before.
