Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
- 1 green chilli finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon dry mango/amchoor powder
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
- 1 tablespoon pizza sauce
- 5 boiled potatoes, mashed
- salt to taste
- 100 g paneer/cottage cheese
- 2 cubes cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander
- oil for frying
- 6-8 bread slices
- 2 cups bread crumbs
For Slurry
- 2 tablespoons corn flour
- 3 tablespoons refined flour
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
- salt to taste
- water as required

Steps In Making
- Heat oil in a pan and then add finely chopped onions. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until they turn light golden brown in colour.
- Now add ginger garlic paste and cook for another minute.
- Further add finely chopped green chillies, coriander powder, amchoor powder, turmeric powder, oregano, chilli flakes and pizza sauce. Mix well and cook for a minute. Add a tablespoon of water if needed.
- Now add boiled and mashed potatoes and mix till everything is well combined.
- Add salt and grated paneer in it and mix well. Cook for couple of minutes.
- Switch off the heat and then add grated cheese and fresh coriander. Now mix well, the potato and cheese filling is ready.
- Take a bread slice and evenly spread a spoonful of the potato and cheese filling on it. Similarly prepare the rest of the slices and cut them into three halves.
- To prepare the slurry in a bowl add corn flour, refined flour, oregano, chilli flakes, salt and water. The slurry should have a medium consistency, not very thick nor very thin.
- Now coat the potato cheese sticks with the slurry and then coat them with bread crumbs from all sides. Similarly prepare the rest of the potato cheese sticks.
- Now let them rest in the refrigerator for upto an hour. You can also store them in an airtight container in the freezer for upto a month.
- To fry te potato cheese sticks, heat oil in a pan and fry them from both sides for 3-4 minutes or until they get golden brown colour and a crispy texture on top.
- Serve hot with ketchup or chutney.
Recipe Notes
- Do not apply very thick layer of the cheese masala else it might break while frying.
- Always refrigerate them before frying, else they might break while frying.
- If you don’t have pizza sauce then you can replace it with tomato ketchup.
