Quick Chocolate Granola Recipe – With Video and Step by Step Photos

This quick and healthy granola recipe is perfect for chocolate lovers. It’s quick and very easy to make and is one of my perfect granola recipes. I love to have this in the morning for my breakfast with cold milk.

Ingredients For Quick & Healthy Chocolate Granola Recipe

  • 3 cups (300g) rolled oats (Buy it on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2P4n1j3)
  • ½ cup (87g) milk chocolate chips (can use any)
  • ¼ cup (25g) cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoon (30g) brown sugar
  • ¾ cup (105g) whole almonds
  • ½ cup (55g) walnuts
  • ½ cup (65g) raw pumpkin seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup (60ml) water
  • ¼ cup (60ml) canola oil (any flavourless oil, vegetable, sunflower oil)
  • 1/3 cup (113ml) honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

 Steps In Making Quick & Healthy Chocolate Granola

  1. Preheat the oven to 170C (338F) and grease the baking tray with oil or butter.
  2. In a large bowl add all the dried ingredients like rolled oats, almonds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, salt and cocoa powder. Mix everything well.
  3. In another bowl add all the wet ingredients like, oil, honey, water, vanilla essence along with brown sugar and mix.
  4. Now combine the wet and the dry ingredients together making sure everything is moistened; else granola might burn while baking.
  5. Now spread the granola on the prepared baking tray and insert the tray in the middle rack of the oven and bake for around 35-40 minutes or until it turns golden brown, stirring every 15 minutes for even baking.
  6. Once baked add the chocolate chips and let it cool down completely. Please note granola will be soft when it’s out from the oven, but once it begins to cool down it will turn crispy.
  7. Store in an airtight container for upto 2 months.

Recipe Notes For Quick & Healthy Chocolate Granola

  • You can replace brown sugar white sugar.
  • Use old fashioned rolled oats and not the processed one.
  • Replace the dried nuts with any nuts of your choice.
  • Make sure to stir the granola every fifteen minutes for even baking, else the granola might burn.

4. Now add the cocoa powder.

5. Finally add the salt.

6. Mix everything till well combined.

7. In another bowl add all the wet ingredients like, oil.

8. Add water.

9. Add honey.

10. Add vanilla essence.

11. Finally add the brown sugar.

12. Mix everything well.

13. Now combine the wet and the dry ingredients.

14. Mix till everything is well combined and moistened; else granola might burn while baking.

15. Now spread the granola on the prepared baking tray and bake for around 35-40 minutes or until it turns golden brown, stirring every 15 minutes for even baking.

16. Once baked remove it from the oven and put it on a wire rack.

17.  Finally add the chocolate chips and let it cool down completely. Please note granola will be soft when it’s out from the oven, but once it begins to cool down it will turn crispy.

18. Store in an airtight container for upto 2 months.

      Thank you so much ❤️ Well Coco powder gives a nice chocolate flavour and also gives the granola a dark chocolate colour. I suggest you reduce the quantity if needed. But if you don’t like it at all, then yes you can skip it. The procedure remains same. Though if you are skipping then would suggest add more chocolate chips for that extra chocolate flavour.     How to check whether granola is baked or not, since every oven is different and time of baking varies with quantity and other factors?

      Hi Rabia,

      Nuts will give a great bite and taste to this granola recipe. Would recommend you add them but if you don’t like nuts then you can skip them. And no you don’t need to add extra oats. Enjoy
