Steps In Making
- In a large bowl add the boiled potatoes and mash them with the help of a potato masher or grate them. Make sure there are no lumps.
- Now add chilli flakes, chaat masala, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, semolina and mix well. Further add salt and bread crumbs and mix till everything is well combined.
- Now take a tablespoon of the potato mixture and with the help of your fingers give it a square or round shape. Similarly shape all the potato bites.
- To coat these we would need a slurry, for that in a bowl add corn flour, refined flour and water. Now mix well and make a slurry with thin consistency.
- In another bowl add corn flakes and with the help of your hand break them into small pieces. Do not grind, else it will turn into a fine powder.
- Now take each potato bite and dip it into the slurry and then coat it with the corn flakes. (You can store the crunchy potato bites in an airtight container and freeze them for upto 3 months.)
- Refrigerate the potato bites for 30 minutes and then deep fry them in medium heat until crispy and golden brown in colour.
- Crunchy potato bites are ready. Sprinkle some potato bites masala on top and serve hot with ketchup.
- To make the potato bite masala, in a bowl add kashmiri red chilli powder, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, chaat masala and mix well.
Recipe Notes
- If you do not have corn flakes, you can also use bread crumbs.
- Always refrigerate the potato bites for 30 minutes before frying them, else they might break while frying.
