2 Healthy Ice Cream Recipes

Healthy banana ice cream that can you can enjoy this summer season guilt-free. These ice cream recipes are simple and very easy to make and require minimum ingredients. I have shared two of the most loved ice cream flavours, vanilla and chocolate.

Ingredients

Vanilla ice cream
  • 4 bananas fully ripened
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • sprinkles for garnishing
Chocolate Banana ice cream
  • 4 bananas fully ripened
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • chocolate sauce for garnishing (optional)
  • chocolate chips for garnishing (optional)

Steps In Making Healthy Banana Ice Cream

  1. Roughly slice the bananas and freeze them for 4-5 hours or overnight
  2. To make the vanilla ice cream, in a food processor or a blender add the frozen bananas, sugar, cold milk, vanilla extract and blend them together till it forms into a smooth mixture.
  3. Pour it in a bowl/pan and keep it in the freezer to set for 4-5 hours or overnight.
  4. Once done, scoop the ice cream and garnish with some sprinkles.
  5. For the chocolate banana ice cream add the frozen bananas in the food processor along with sugar, cocoa powder and cold milk and blend until smooth.
  6. Now add chocolate chips and blend for 10-15 seconds and then pour the ice cream mixture in a pan and top it with chocolate chips.
  7. Set it in the freezer for 4-5 hours or overnight.
  8. Garnish with chocolate sauce and chocolate chips. Serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

  • Always use frozen bananas for a thick and creamy texture.
  • You can add any fruits of your choice along with the frozen bananas, like frozen mangoes or strawberries.
  • Fully ripened bananas give a better sweet taste.
  • You can skip the sugar if needed.
  • Don’t add extra milk, else the ice cream won’t freeze perfectly.
  • You can add peanut butter, almond butter or Nutella, as per your preferance.

Step By Step In Pictures For Healthy Banana Ice Cream

1. Slice the bananas.

2. Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper and keep it in the freezer for 4-5 hours or until frozen.

3. Once frozen put the bananas in the food processor.

4. Now add sugar.

5. Add vanilla extract.

6. Add chilled milk.

7. Blend for 3-4 minutes or until smooth.

8. The vanilla banana ice cream mixture is ready.

9. Pour it in a pan and keep it in the freezer for 4-5 hours or until frozen.

10. Once done, scoop the ice cream.

11. Top it with sprinkles and serve immediately.

12. For chocolate banana ice cream, add frozen bananas and sugar in a food processor.

13. Now add cocoa powder.

14. Add cold milk.

15. Blend for 3-4 minutes or until smooth.

16. Now add chocolate chips.

17. Blend for 10-15 seconds.

18. Put the prepared ice cream mixture in a pan and top it with some chocolate chips. Let it set in the freezer for 4-5 hours or until frozen.

19. Once done, scoop the healthy chocolate banana ice cream.

20. Garnish with some chocolate sauce and chocolate chips. Serve immediately.
