Ingredients For Shakkar Pare Recipe
- 2 cup (256g) maida/refined flour
- 1/3rd cup (80 ml) water
- 1/3rd cup (80ml) ghee/clarified butter
- 1/2 cup (100g) sugar
- Oil for frying

Steps In Making Shakkar Pare Recipe
- In a large bowl add luke warm water and sugar and mix till the sugar completely dissolves.
- Now add ghee and mix again.
- Gradually add the refined flour to the above liquid.
- Knead into a smooth dough. Once done, cover it and let it rest for an hour or two.
- Divide dough into three equal parts.
- Now grease the rolling pin with ghee and roll the dough. Don’t roll it into very thin sheets, else the share pare will become flat and wont become fluffy.
- With a knife or a pizza cutter, cut them into desired shape.
- In a pan heat the oil and fry the shakar paras on low flame them till golden brown from both sides and fluffy. It will take around 8-10 minutes.
- Cool them completely before storing.
- Store in an airtight container for up to two months.
Recipe Notes For Shakkar Pare
- Add ghee only once the sugar melts else later the sugar wont dissolve properly.
- Earlier when you knead the dough it might look soft, but after couple of hours it will firm up as the maida will absorb all the liquid.
- Fry them on low flame else from the outside they will cook and inside will remain uncooked. Also the shaker paras wont become fluffy if you cook them on high flame.

4. Knead into a smooth dough, cover it and let it rest for an hour or two.
5. Divide dough into three equal parts.
6. Now grease the rolling pin with ghee and roll the dough. Don’t roll it into very thin sheets, else the shakar pare will become flat and wont become fluffy.
7. With a knife or a pizza cutter, cut them into desired shape.
8. In a pan heat the oil and fry the shakar paras on low flame, till golden brown from both sides and fluffy.
9. Remove them from the oil.
10. The Shakar para’s look nice and fluffy. Cool them completely before storing.
11. Ready to serve. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
