Veg Lolipop with a dip


For Veg Lollipop Mixture
  • 5 medium boiled potatoes
  • ¼ cup onions
  • ¼ cup cauliflower
  • ¼ cup carrots
  • ¼ cup capsicum
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli flakes
  • ½ teaspoon oregano/mixed herbs
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • salt to taste
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • Oil for frying

-Finely chop all the vegetables

The Slurry
  • 2 tablespoons refined flour
  • 2 tablespoons corn flour
  • 1 tablespoon rice flour
  • water as required
Bread crumbs Coating
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • ¼ teaspoon red chilli flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon oregano
For Dip
  • 5-6 tablespoons eggless mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • ¼ teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon red chilli flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps In Making

Vegetable Lollipop
  1. In a large bowl add potatoes and mash them well.
  2. Now add all the finely chopped vegetables, onions, cauliflower, carrots, capsicum, green chillies, fresh coriander and mix well.
  3. Now add red chilli flakes, oregano, black pepper powder, salt, bread crumbs and mix well.
  4. Take some mixture in your hand and give them round ball like shapes.
  5. To make the slurry in a bowl add corn flour, refined flour, rice flour and water and mix till it becomes smooth. It have a medium consistency.
  6. In a separate bowl add bread crumbs, red chilli flakes, oregano and mix well. Both the coatings are ready.
  7. Now take each vegetables lollipop and first dip them in the slurry and then gently roll them into the bread crumbs.
  8. Once done keep them in the refrigerator for upto 15 minutes before frying.
  9. In a pan add oil and once it becomes hot add the veg lollipops and fry them till they get a golden crispy texture.
  10. Insert a toothpick in each vegetable lollipop and serve immediately with the dip.

To make the dip in a bowl add all the ingredients and mix until well combined. The dip is ready.

Recipe Notes

  • You an add any vegetables of your choice, just make sure they are finely chopped.
  • Can give any shape to these vegetable lollipops.
  • You can make the lollipops in advance and store them in the freezer for upto 15 days.
