Biscuit Cake- Without oven and Eggless

Today I am very excited as I will be sharing a biscuit cake recipe which can be made in 30 minutes. This biscuit cake is very easy to make and most importantly we will bake this cake without an oven. Yes you read it right! We will make it on a gas stove. No one can ever guess that this delicious cake is made with biscuits and it’s not baked in an oven. This moist and chocolaty biscuit cake will be your favourite go to cake recipe, I promise!

Ingredients For Biscuit Cake

  • 2 large (packets 300g) Burbon biscuits or (any chocolate cream biscuit)
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoon flavourless oil (canola or sunflower)
  • 1 packet eno or 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoon chopped nuts for garnishing (optional)

Steps In Making Biscuit Cake

  1. In a mixer grinder jar add the cream biscuits, cocoa powder and powdered sugar. Now grind them for a minute or till it turns into a fine powder.
  2. Remove the mixture in a large bowl. Now add milk into two parts and mix till everything is well combined.
  3. Further add oil and mix again. Let the biscuit cake batter rest for 5-10 minutes.
  4. On a gas stove over medium flame put a large pan deep enough to place the cake tin. Now place a ring or a plate inside it. ( see video or step by step pictures for better understanding.)
  5. Now add water and bring it to a boil.
  6. Meanwhile prepare a cake tin by greasing it with oil or butter and then lining it with a parchment paper.
  7. Now take the cake batter which we had prepared earlier and add eno and little water in it. Gently fold the batter into one direction till everything is well combined.
  8. Pour the biscuit cake batter into the tin, now tap couple of times to remove any air bubbles. Finally garnish it with chopped nuts.
  9. Carefully place the cake tin into the pan with water and cover it with a kitchen towel and then place a lid on it.
  10. Let it cook on low flame for around 30 minutes or unitl a toothpick inserted comes out clean. If baking it in an oven the bake it at 170C for 30 minutes.
  11. Let it cool down completely before slicing.
  12. Store the biscuit cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for upto 8-10 days.

Recipe Notes

  • You can use any chocolate biscuit of your choice. Will suggest to use chocolate cream biscuit for extra flavour and texture.
  • Oil can be replaced with melted butter.
  • Make sure the pan is properly covered with a lid to avoid any steam going out.
  • Eno can be replaced with baking powder.

16. Cover it with a kitchen towel and then place a lid on it.

17. Let it cook on low flame for around 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. If baking in an oven the bake it at 170C for 30 minutes.

18. The cake is perfectly baked and when toothpick inserted, it came out clean.

19. Let the biscuit cake cool down completely before cutting.

20. The cake looks perfectly baked and is so moist.

21. Store the biscuit cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for upto 8-10 days.
