Ingredients
- 3 amla/ gooseberries
- 4 cups water
- 24-26 black peppercorns
- 8-10 cloves
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- ¼ teaspoon ajwain/ carrom seeds
- 10-12 tulsi leaves/holy basil
- 1 inch fresh turmeric
- 1 inch ginger
- 2 teaspoons honey
- ¼ teaspoon black salt

Steps In Making
- Grate the amla with the help of a grater.
- In a pan add water, grated amla, cloves, black pepper corns, cinnamon stick, ajwain and tulsi leaves. Let it boil for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.
- Meanwhile crush or grate some fresh turmeric and ginger.
- Now add the crushed turmeric and ginger in the boiling kadha and let it simmer on medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
- Once done switch off the flame, cover it with a lid and let it cool down for 5 minutes.
- Finally add honey and black salt.
- Strain the kadha and serve hot.
Recipe Notes
- Can replace honey with jaggery or sugar.
- If you don’t have fresh turmeric then replace it with 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
