  • ¼ cup (50g) powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons ghee/clarified butter
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom powder

Note– Please read recipe notes in the end.

Main Equipments Used

Steps In Making

  1. Place a pan over medium flame and add ghee in it. Once the ghee melts, add milk and let it simmer till the milk becomes hot.
  2. Now add the milk powder in 3 batches while stirring it continuously, so it doesn’t form lumps or stick to the pan.
  3. After a minute the mixture will begin to thicken, at this point add the powdered sugar and cardamom powder and cook for a minute.
  4. Lastly add the dried desiccated coconut and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the mixture stops sticking to the pan and forms a ball like structure. Add a teaspoon of ghee, if needed for a soft texture.
  5. There should be some moisture still left in the coconut. Don’t cook further, else the mixture will become dry and the laddos will turn out hard and crumbly.
  6. To check if it’s done, take some coconut ladoo mixture in your hand and if it forms into a ball-like structure then switch off the flame and let it cool for sometime.
  7. Now take some mixture in your hand and roll them into ladoo’s.
  8. Lastly coat them in dry desiccated coconut.
  9. Cool them completely and store them in an airtight container for upto 10 days.

Recipe Notes

  • You can use finely grated fresh coconut too.
  • Can use low fat or full fat milk.
  • Never over cook the mixture else it will cerumble and you wont be able to form the ladoo’s.
  • While forming the ladoo’s if the mixture has become dry then add 2-3 tablespoons of warm milk and combine together.
